How ACT Toronto Leaned Into Virtual Guest Experiences to Capture Matching Gifts and a Bit of Comedy Relief

ACT Toronto (AIDS Committee of Toronto) needed to pivot its landmark World AIDS Day luncheon to a virtual format in 2020 while preserving donor engagement and capturing matching gifts for its fifth‑year “Together Toward Zero” celebration. To do that they selected vendor onecause and used the OneCause Virtual Event Center to recreate the program, host panelists and entertainment, and enable a single‑screen giving experience.

Using onecause’s Virtual Event Center, ACT Toronto broadcast the full program, used donation overlays, real‑time recognition and chat, and ran a $37,500 matching campaign to incentivize gifts. The virtual strategy raised $56,006 during the one‑hour luncheon, produced a smooth professional show with much lower expenses, and delivered a strong net gain and increased donor confidence.
