ForKids Took Their 19th Annual Art Auction Virtual, Fast!

ForKids, a Virginia nonprofit serving thousands of families and children experiencing homelessness, faced the challenge of quickly turning its 19th Annual ForKids Art Auction into a virtual fundraiser to preserve the single-night revenue it depends on. To make the rapid pivot, ForKids partnered with BidPal and used the BidPal online auction platform (one.bidpal.net) to run an online auction, raffles and donations while supporting donors unfamiliar with digital bidding.

BidPal’s platform and event support enabled livestreaming via Facebook Live, real-time bid monitoring and calling out winners, a tech support line, influencer outreach, donor testing runs, and creative touches like “Bidder Bites.” The results were strong: $300,000 in online donations, $311,899 in silent auction proceeds, a total of $621,899 in event proceeds, 364% proceeds-to-item-value, and an average of 29.68 bids per package—demonstrating BidPal’s role in a successful virtual transition.
