EB Research Partnership Creating Fundraising Reach in Search of a Cure

EB Research Partnership, a nonprofit founded by Jamie and her family to fund a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa, rapidly expanded from a single NYC gala to multiple grassroots events nationwide. While they were already using OneCause for ticketing, silent and live auctions and paddle raises, the organization faced a scaling challenge: with just two full‑time staff, they needed a way to support volunteer-led events in multiple cities without overwhelming their small team.

EB Research Partnership adopted the OneCause Do It Yourself (DIY) solution — the same mobile bidding and year‑round fundraising software used at ACTion for Jackson — enabling local event chairs and volunteers to run auctions onsite after brief training and self‑study. The results were dramatic: ACTion for Jackson grew proceeds to $1.3M in 2017 with strong auction metrics (102% silent proceeds to item value, ~1,000 bids, 250+ live donations), Chicago’s first‑time event raised $320,000 (vs. a $50,000 goal), Houston surpassed its targets, reconciliation became far faster with fewer errors, and OneCause’s tools materially increased fundraising versus paper bid sheets.
