A One Identity Case Study

University streamlines administration and enhances security with a unified approach to IAM

Canadian University Dubai, a private UAE university serving over 4,000 students and roughly 400 faculty and staff, faced heavy IAM challenges: semester-driven surges in account provisioning, manual processes that took 24–48 hours per user, role creep, and limited governance that increased security risk. To address this, the university engaged One Identity and deployed One Identity Manager along with One Identity Password Manager to centralize and modernize identity and access administration.

One Identity implemented centralized role definitions, automated provisioning, and self‑service password workflows, giving CUD end‑to‑end visibility and governance across its diverse user base. The result: provisioning times dropped from 24–48 hours to about 5 minutes, students can manage access remotely, IT bottlenecks and role creep were reduced, and the university is better positioned for rapid technology adoption and cloud migration.
