St. Clair College provisions user access in hours instead of weeks

St. Clair College, a Canadian college serving about 20,000 students and 1,200 faculty and staff, was hampered by inefficient identity and access management: account provisioning took weeks, users had multiple usernames and passwords, HR-dependent paper requests slowed onboarding, and the help desk was overloaded. The college chose One Identity and implemented Identity Manager, Cloud Access Manager and Password Manager to modernize and simplify access for students and staff.

One Identity automated provisioning by integrating Identity Manager with the HR system to perform “birthright” access, cut account creation and provisioning to 24 hours or less (instead of weeks), consolidated users to a single username/password, and enabled self-service password resets with Password Manager. Cloud Access Manager provided secure remote access to intranet and Office 365. The result: fewer help-desk calls, faster onboarding, improved user satisfaction and productivity, and clearer auditability for compliance.
