Smart and safe school district automates access

Moore Public Schools, a district of 22,000 students and about 2,200 employees, faced the challenge of organizing and securing thousands of online accounts with very limited IT staff—one Active Directory administrator. To solve this, the district adopted One Identity’s identity and access management solution, Active Roles, to automate provisioning and enforce access rules across the environment.

One Identity implemented Active Roles to synchronize accounts from student and HR databases, automate creation/modification/retirement in Active Directory and Exchange, and delegate safe web-based tasks to site staff. The deployment let a single administrator handle roughly 25,000 user accounts, created a safer, organized online learning environment for 22,000 students, eliminated hundreds of manual AD work orders (and the need for at least three additional IT hires), and reduced risk by enforcing strict access controls.
