School district ensures students and employees have fast, protected access to hybrid-cloud resources

Edmonton Catholic School District, a K–12 system serving 43,000 students and 5,000 employees across 120 sites, faced slow and fragmented IT access that impeded teaching and learning: new users waited days for accounts, deprovisioning was manual, teachers and administrators lacked control over resources, and hybrid‑cloud access added complexity. The district selected One Identity—deploying One Identity Active Roles and One Identity Password Manager—to modernize provisioning and password workflows.

One Identity implemented automated, role‑based provisioning and deprovisioning tied to the district’s HR and student systems and enabled self‑service password management; as a result, new users gain access within one hour (down from days), more than 6,000 student accounts are deprovisioned automatically each year, and security, efficiency and the overall learning experience have improved while empowering teachers with appropriate IT controls.
