Case Study: United States Government achieves federal IAM compliance and unified statewide identity management with One Identity

A One Identity Case Study

Preview of the United States Government Case Study

Protecting and monitoring access to a state’s systems

The customer, United States Government, issued a 2017 Cybersecurity Executive Order requiring states to adopt a unified identity and access management (IAM) framework. To comply, one state needed to replace 18 disparate IAM solutions that governed access for more than 17,000 employees and contractors; the state engaged EST Group to design and deploy a unified solution using One Identity products including Active Roles, One Identity Manager, Password Manager, One Identity Safeguard and Starling Two-Factor Authentication.

EST Group implemented a One Identity–based platform that created a central identity repository and single administrator dashboard, automated provisioning/deprovisioning, self-service password resets, two‑factor authentication and monitored privileged activity. One Identity’s solution ensured federal IAM compliance, improved security and statewide visibility and control, boosted staff efficiency, and consolidated 18 systems into a single platform managing 17,000+ users while supporting automated reports, supply‑chain transactions and role-based flexibility.
