One Identity Manager celebrates its fifth anniversary at MTU Aero Engines

MTU in Munich, a leading German engine manufacturer with about 11,273 employees across 18 locations, faced growing complexity in user access and stricter compliance demands. Their legacy IAM solution lacked automation and integration with business‑critical systems, causing errors, delays and burdensome audit processes. Working with One Identity Professional Services, MTU implemented and customized One Identity Manager to integrate SAP HR, Active Directory, Exchange and MTU‑specific applications, and introduced an IT‑Webshop self‑service portal. The solution automated de-/provisioning, sped onboarding, and made audits near‑instant — saving up to 300 working days a year, drastically reducing audit preparation from days to minutes, raising IAM scalability and delivering a highly stable, low‑error system.
