Major Global Mobile Operator Controlling Third-Party Administrators

Global Mobile Operating Company, a major international mobile operator with operations across Europe and Asia and hundreds of millions of subscribers, needed to control and audit system administration across multiple high‑security network zones that were accessed by internal and third‑party administrators. Existing SSH gateways and security tools could not trace or monitor encrypted SSH sessions, so the operator selected One Identity’s Safeguard for Privileged Sessions to solve the visibility and control gap.

One Identity implemented Safeguard for Privileged Sessions as a gateway to the operator’s mission‑critical SUN Solaris environment in a roughly three‑month project (including an eight‑week test phase). The deployment uses two geo‑redundant appliances protecting six servers and monitoring 15–20 third‑party admins, plus an additional appliance protecting 8–9 servers and monitoring 40–50 system admins. One Identity’s solution delivered real‑time session authorization, recording and instant termination, granular access policies, alerts/blocks for malicious activity, protection of shared passwords, and measurable SLA/billing verification — restoring auditability and control of previously opaque SSH sessions.
