Jemena in Australia mitigates access management risks with automated attestation processes

Jemena, an Australian utility with about 2,500 permanent employees and numerous contract staff, faced time‑consuming, manual identity and access management (IAM) processes—especially user‑account attestations and timely deprovisioning—that made it hard to get an accurate, consolidated view of accounts. To address this, Jemena selected One Identity and its Identity Manager product to automate IAM, integrate with SAP, Active Directory and other systems, and improve compliance.

One Identity, supported by its One Identity Services (OIS) team, delivered a phased Identity Manager deployment (base build, attestation automation, account lifecycle) completed within a year. The solution now runs roughly 20 attestation policies across eight target systems (including SAP ECC/ISU and AD), automates provisioning/deprovisioning, reduces service‑desk effort, creates a single source of truth for user identities, and has materially mitigated access risk while making compliance demonstrable.
