Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB), serving about 17,000 students across 48 schools in Ontario, faced error-prone manual user account management, inconsistent student access to learning tools, and rising software licensing costs. To address these challenges TLDSB deployed One Identity solutions—Active Roles and Password Manager—implemented with the help of partner Setka Solutions.
One Identity’s Active Roles automated provisioning and lifecycle management across grades and buildings while Password Manager provided cross-application password syncing and self-service resets (Active Directory, Google Apps for Education and Office 365). The fast deployment delivered consistent, automated IAM for 17,000 students, cut password‑related help-desk requests by 17%, freed the equivalent of a full-time IT position, and reduced licensing waste from orphaned accounts.
