A One Identity Case Study
dunnhumby, a global marketing consultancy, faced the challenge of managing a mixed Windows and business‑critical Unix/Linux environment while migrating Unix apps to Linux. They needed true single sign-on and centralized account and permission management without extending their AD schema, so dunnhumby selected One Identity and its Authentication Services to integrate Unix/Linux authentication with Active Directory.
One Identity implemented Authentication Services (with about 1.5 days of consultancy) to extend AD to roughly 50 Linux servers, leveraging Group Policy and a packaged Samba server to deliver single sign-on for 750 users. The solution eliminated multiple Unix accounts, saved about 45 hours/week of account maintenance plus roughly 6 hours/week of provisioning/admin (more than 50 hours weekly), was rolled out globally, and is expected to deliver full ROI within 12 months.
