Cabarrus County Boosts AD Efficiency and Security with Active Roles

Cabarrus County Schools in North Carolina, responsible for about 41,000 Active Directory accounts (5,000 staff and 36,000 students), struggled with continual provisioning/deprovisioning, manual group permissions and policy management, audit readiness, and entitlement security. To address these challenges they engaged One Identity and implemented One Identity Active Roles (with Password Manager) to automate AD management and tighten identity controls.

One Identity deployed Active Roles to automate account lifecycle, group membership and policy configurations, and to streamline password resets, giving the district a “set-it-and-forget-it” capability. The solution secured provisioning for all ~41,000 users, reduced manual edits and password resets, improved audit readiness and visibility, and freed IT staff time—delivering reliable policy enforcement, faster audits and guided support from One Identity.
