YIT, the largest construction and urban development company in Finland, wanted to turn ambitious climate goals into practical action across its projects. The company needed an easy way to calculate building life-cycle emissions, support teams new to LCA, and identify lower-carbon materials and design choices. To do this, YIT used One Click LCA as its building life-cycle assessment tool.

With One Click LCA, YIT was able to help dozens of employees calculate project carbon footprints from scratch and build a clearer picture of emissions across its portfolio. The platform supported data imports and custom building structures, improving calculation accuracy and helping YIT assess and pilot low-carbon solutions. As a result, YIT has calculated the life-cycle emissions of over 100 projects and tested a hollow-core slab with more than 40% lower carbon footprint than traditional slabs, leading to its first project built solely with the greener slabs.
