University of Toronto - Customer Case Study

The University of Toronto, through visiting lecturer Kelly Alvarez Doran, was looking for better ways to bring embodied carbon and materials sustainability into design education and project decision-making. The team needed a practical tool to help students and designers assess the environmental impact of material choices early in the design process.

One Click LCA provided the solution, giving the University of Toronto a platform to assess project impacts throughout design and explore material options through its library and links to EPDs. Using One Click LCA, Alvarez Doran also brought embodied carbon analysis into a research studio for students; on the RICA project, this broader sustainability-first approach contributed to a campus design with 58% less embodied carbon than the regional status quo.
