University of Liverpool - Customer Case Study

The University of Liverpool’s Dr Stephen Finnegan, a low-carbon design specialist and lecturer in sustainable architecture, needed a practical way to assess and reduce whole-life carbon in buildings such as the Everyman Theatre. Working with One Click LCA, the team focused on measuring embodied and operational carbon and identifying lower-carbon material choices early in design.

Using One Click LCA, the University of Liverpool was able to carry out embodied carbon assessments quickly, test material alternatives, and compare design options with intuitive results views. The approach helped support whole-life carbon analysis of the Everyman Theatre and other projects, with the case study noting carbon reductions of around 40% on projects and a theatre footprint ranging from 10,603 tonnes of CO₂ on standard UK grid connections down to 5,435 tonnes with 100% renewable electricity.
