Soler & Palau cuts HVAC carbon with One Click LCA by capturing 98% of footprint in use phase

Soler & Palau, a ventilation systems manufacturer, faced a challenge common in the HVAC industry: Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) often omitted the operational energy use phase (Module B6). This made it impossible to see the full carbon footprint of their products or to make informed procurement decisions, as the dominant source of environmental impact remained hidden. With support from One Click LCA, Soler & Palau implemented cradle-to-grave EPDs that capture the full life-cycle impact, including the operational energy use phase. This solution provided full visibility of their products' carbon footprint, which in turn drove targeted improvements. The results include using EC motors for efficiency, achieving up to 85% recycled plastic content for circularity, and powering all production sites with 100% green electricity.
