Skanska Proptech Hackathon One Click LCA team won the CO2 footprint challenge

Skanska, the Swedish multinational construction and development company, teamed up with Proptech Romania to host a hackathon focused on reducing building CO2 footprints and enabling easier life-cycle assessment to support net zero carbon goals. One Click LCA participated in the challenge, using its Carbon Designer concept-phase carbon software and embodied carbon calculation expertise to address the need for early-stage design decision support and simplified carbon calculations for construction materials.

One Click LCA proposed an intuitive online carbon platform and automated, pre-verified calculators that could feed directly into LCA software, cutting up to 90% of manual work time and lowering the cost of carbon reporting versus traditional EPD workflows. One Click LCA also highlighted its BETie concrete calculator and demonstrated how Skanska could add carbon and social cost criteria into procurement, earning the CO2 footprint challenge win and the title “The most promising future partner.”
