Case Study: BRE achieves BREEAM Outstanding ambitions with One Click LCA

BRE partnered with One Click LCA to support the design of its Open Innovation Hub in Watford, a new 3,200 m² construction project targeting BREEAM UK NC 2018 Outstanding. The challenge was to assess embodied carbon early in the project and target all available Mat 01 credits, including the Building Services exemplary credit, as part of the BREEAM New Construction assessment.

Using One Click LCA, Max Fordham LLP analyzed the building’s embodied carbon and helped inform a high-performance, fabric-first design with low-enthalpy active systems and an all-electric strategy. The work supported BRE’s sustainability goals and BREEAM certification efforts for the project, helping position the hub as a benchmark for low-carbon innovation in the built environment.
