LEED v4 Building life-cycle impact reduction credit with One Click LCA

Invesco Logistics Park, a new construction warehouse and distribution center project in Getafe, Madrid, needed to support its LEED BD+C v4 certification by demonstrating building life-cycle impact reduction. To do this, the project team worked with One Click LCA, using the platform for Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment as part of the certification process.

With support from One Click LCA and LKS KREAN, the team identified the materials driving the highest environmental impacts early in design, especially on-site mixed concrete and precast concrete. They then optimized the structural module, selected low-impact cement, shortened transport distances with a local precast supplier, and used recycled aggregates and lower-impact insulation materials. These changes helped reduce global warming potential, ozone depletion, acidification, eutrophication, tropospheric ozone formation, and non-renewable energy use, contributing to the project’s LEED Silver certification.
