HS2 Limited reduces whole life carbon by 14% with One Click LCA

The customer, HS2 Limited, the company responsible for developing the UK's new high-speed rail network, faced the challenge of calculating the whole life carbon footprint for its new London Euston station to achieve BREEAM certification. They used the One Click LCA tool, specifically the One Click LCA Revit plugin, to extract material data from the project's BIM model.

One Click LCA was used to calculate a baseline carbon footprint and then test a variety of design options against it. This process allowed HS2 to develop a 14% reduction in whole life carbon emissions by the end of the design stage. The analysis also helped the project achieve two BREEAM Innovation credits, contributing to its goal of a BREEAM Excellent rating.
