Genuit cuts carbon emissions by 45,000 tons with One Click LCA

Genuit Group, a major manufacturer of sustainable construction solutions, faced the challenge of demonstrating to its customers that it was the lowest-carbon supplier of choice. To provide verifiable evidence and identify opportunities for improvement across its tens of thousands of products, the company needed to translate environmental product declaration (EPD) data into actionable insights. They turned to the EPD software from vendor One Click LCA to meet this challenge.

Using One Click LCA, Genuit was able to measure, analyze, and reduce embodied carbon across its product range. The software provided life-cycle assessment data that informed material selection, manufacturing efficiency, and product design. This data-driven approach led to carbon reduction strategies like increasing recycled content and optimizing logistics. As a result, Genuit cut its absolute carbon emissions from 60,000 tons in 2016 to 15,000 tons in 2023, a reduction of 45,000 tons of CO2e, while also creating products with a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditional alternatives.
