Case Study: Väylä advances sustainable infrastructure planning with One Click LCA

EN-standard based study for the Finnish Transport Agency

Väylä (Finnish Transport Agency) needed to better understand current European life cycle standards and how to apply them in planning more environmentally sound infrastructure projects. To support this, One Click LCA was used for the environmental assessment of the Kivikko interchange project in Finland.

Using One Click LCA, Väylä assessed the project according to the EN 15978 standard and compared planned versus realized values to evaluate environmental impacts. The study showed how planning decisions can affect impacts and provided a practical basis for implementing EN-based lifecycle assessment in future infrastructure development.
