Cudd Bentley Consulting avoids 800 tonnes CO₂e with One Click LCA

Cudd Bentley Consulting, a sustainability consultancy, needed to accurately compare the whole-life carbon emissions of refurbishing an existing industrial facility versus demolishing it and constructing a new building. To guide this critical decision and ensure alignment with net-zero targets, they utilized the One Click LCA software to conduct a standardized whole-life carbon assessment.

Using One Click LCA, Cudd Bentley Consulting modeled both scenarios, leveraging its integrated global EPD database and compliance modules. The solution provided clear, data-driven results, showing that refurbishment had a significantly lower carbon footprint. The outcome was a saving of approximately 100 kg CO₂e/m², with refurbishment emitting 417 kg CO₂e/m² compared to 511 kg CO₂e/m² for a new build, ultimately avoiding an estimated 800 tonnes of CO₂e emissions.
