City of Tampere cuts day-care centre carbon footprints by up to 22% with One Click LCA

The City of Tampere sought to address climate challenges in its construction sector by integrating carbon footprint calculations and life-cycle assessments into its projects to meet its Carbon Neutral Tampere 2030 goals. To achieve this, the city used the One Click LCA software to check calculation accuracy, archive results, and compare different building solutions.

Using One Click LCA, the City of Tampere was able to efficiently compare building materials and identify the lowest-carbon options. This resulted in a measurable impact, with log day-care centres achieving an average carbon footprint of 15.05 kg CO₂e/m²/a, which is up to 22% lower than conventional building materials, allowing the city to make cost-effective choices that support its carbon neutrality objectives.
