ArcelorMittal Steligence cuts steel project embodied carbon with One Click LCA to 333 kg CO2/t

ArcelorMittal, a global steel manufacturer, faced the challenge of reducing the embodied carbon in its steel production and construction projects to meet its decarbonization goals. To support this effort, ArcelorMittal utilized the One Click LCA platform for life-cycle assessment and environmental product declaration (EPD) creation.

One Click LCA provided the solution by enabling ArcelorMittal's teams to quickly perform LCAs and sensitivity analyses on projects. This helped identify opportunities to reduce carbon footprints through intelligent material selection, such as their XCarb® carbon-neutral steel, and high-performance design. The use of One Click LCA supported the company's broader initiatives, which have resulted in the production of steel with a significantly lower carbon footprint of 333 kg of CO2 per tonne.
