Aiguasol achieves 50% embodied carbon reduction with One Click LCA

Aiguasol, an energy and environmental consulting cooperative, provides expertise in sustainable building design. Their challenge involved conducting complex life-cycle assessments (LCA) and embodied carbon calculations for rehabilitation projects, which required managing data and coordinating with numerous stakeholders including architects and engineers. To address this, they used One Click LCA software.

Using One Click LCA, specifically its Carbon Designer tool, Aiguasol was able to compare design scenarios and material choices to find the most sustainable options. This facilitated data management and collaborative decision-making. On the Infinito Delicias project, One Click LCA helped quantify a 50% reduction in embodied carbon compared to a traditional design, and a 60% reduction for specific building elements by switching to wood carpentry. This contributed to the project winning a Holcim Gold Europe Award.
