One Beyond Automates Study Reporting & Payment Calculations at MHRA’s Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD)

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) faced a significant administrative challenge within its Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) centre. The manual process for calculating and reporting payments to research investigators was time-consuming and prone to error due to a lack of integration between its IT systems. Seeking to automate up to 90% of this work, the MHRA partnered with software developer One Beyond for a solution that would adhere to Government Digital Services (GDS) guidelines.

One Beyond created an API ‘bridge’ to automate data exchange between the CPRD's systems, integrating its Interventional Research Services with its CRM. The vendor developed intuitive dashboards for stakeholders and a new payments module to simplify generating reports. This solution eliminated duplication of effort and saved the public health research organisation hours of valuable admin time each week, significantly improving efficiency and reducing the risk of errors.
