National Business Research Institute (NBRI), a global survey and business research firm, experienced a drop in organic search traffic after a April 2017 website redesign and needed to diagnose issues that Google Analytics couldn’t reveal (notably traffic to indexed PDF files). SEO consultant Bill Hartzer used OnCrawl’s log file analysis and site crawling tools to investigate crawl behavior, bot vs. human visits, and internal linking.

Using OnCrawl to process IIS log files and run crawls, the team uncovered orphan pages, internal-linking problems, status-code issues, and PDF traffic patterns, then fixed linking and other site issues; as a result NBRI recovered and grew visibility, ranking for about 1,000 more keyword positions (rising from 7,983 to 9,008 positions) and increasing top‑3 keywords from 162 to 193. OnCrawl’s reports were explicitly credited with surfacing the issues that led to these measurable gains.
