Case Study: Colonial Savings achieves secure, automated loan document sharing with OnBase

Lender improves compliance and eliminates external challenges with Hyland's ShareBase

Colonial Savings, through its CU Members Mortgage division, needed a secure way to share large volumes of loan documents with more than 500 credit union clients after new HMDA compliance requirements made external document exchange mandatory. Colonial was already using OnBase internally, but its existing sharing methods were too manual, costly, and IT-dependent to meet the new timeline.

OnBase, working with Hyland’s ShareBase and Integrated Document Technologies (IDT), implemented an automated cloud-based document sharing solution that created and populated secure folders based on workflow triggers. The result was faster, more secure external sharing without IT involvement, elimination of the need for additional client access licenses, and improved service for credit unions; Colonial said the old process would have required hiring 20 people to manage it manually.
