Case Study: The Royal Marsden Hospital achieves improved clinical and administrative efficiencies with OnBase (Hyland Healthcare)

A OnBase Case Study

Preview of the The Royal Marsden Hospital Case Study

Leading global cancer hospital increases clinical and administrative efficiencies by enabling a complete digital patient record

The Royal Marsden is a world-leading cancer hospital that treats tens of thousands of patients annually and is undertaking a phased digital transformation to eliminate paper, streamline clinical and administrative workflows, and better support research. Recognising that an electronic patient record (EPR) alone would not deliver a complete digital health record, the hospital needed a solution to integrate clinical documentation, diagnostics and medical images while preparing staff for a future EPR cutover.

The Royal Marsden deployed Hyland Healthcare’s OnBase to digitise records in Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Centres, link images and photography to the EPR, and expand into areas such as clinical trials and surgery. The result is a “single pane of glass” view for clinicians, faster access to high‑resolution images at the point of care, reduced paper handling and lost documents, improved administrative efficiency, and a stronger foundation for research and future EPR adoption.
