A OnBase Case Study
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), a leading paediatric tertiary centre in London, faced an aging digital estate where the electronic patient record (EPR) lacked integrated medical images and document management. With high outpatient and inpatient volumes and complex consent processes, the hospital needed a single, modern system that provided clinicians seamless access to both visible-light and DICOM images to improve quality of care.
GOSH implemented Hyland OnBase tightly integrated with its Epic EPR, alongside PACS and a vendor-neutral archive, consolidating document and imaging workflows and enabling e‑consent and broader indexing via XDS. Since going live in mid‑2019 the hospital has become largely paper‑lite, reduced clinician time spent searching for information, improved productivity and care, repurposed medical records space, and set the stage for adding patient- and clinician-generated photos and videos.
