VPS.NET, the cloud hosting service from UK2 Group, wanted to launch a new kind of mass-market cloud offering that combined the flexibility of enterprise cloud services with the simplicity and low cost of shared and dedicated hosting. Using OnApp technology, it set out to build a service that was easy to deploy, easy to manage, and affordable.

OnApp provided the cloud engine and API that powered VPS.NET’s hosting platform, letting the company use commodity hardware and focus on its own brand and customer experience. Just 12 months after launch, VPS.NET customers had deployed more than 30,000 virtual servers, and the service also attracted existing UK2 Group customers moving from traditional shared hosting.
