Genious brings the cloud to Morocco with OnApp

Genious Communications, a Moroccan web host with offices in Casablanca, Marrakesh and Rabat, wanted to improve service quality, grow margins, and compete with global cloud providers while serving customers that value local support. The company managed more than 5,000 domains for 2,500 customers and needed a way to keep improving performance and availability without raising costs.

Genious deployed OnApp Cloud at the end of 2011 and later added OnApp CDN to support its cloud services. The move reduced customer costs by about 30%, improved availability and scalability, and allowed Genious to decommission 60 or 70 dedicated servers immediately, with plans to remove another 30 as more customers adopted cloud services. OnApp also made remote cloud management easier for Genious, which runs its infrastructure in Montreal.
