CloudTO, backed by Cirrus Tech, wanted to expand beyond dedicated servers and focus on local cloud services for Canada’s small and mid-sized businesses. To stand out from larger providers such as Amazon and Microsoft, it needed a platform that could support local service, local support, and SLAs tailored to different customers.

CloudTO chose OnApp Cloud after evaluating several cloud platforms, citing ease of use, billing flexibility, automation, and storage support. The deployment took two months, and CloudTO says it began generating revenue almost immediately; its OnApp cloud became one of its top three revenue streams.
