ASIO.net turns the cloud green with OnApp

ASIO.net provides hosting from its own 100 percent sustainable energy datacenter in Romoland, California, and wanted to extend its green hosting model beyond a single location. The company has used OnApp since 2011, building its SolarCloud hosting services on OnApp Cloud while keeping efficiency and sustainability central to its infrastructure.

With OnApp Cloud and OnApp CDN, ASIO.net can offer customers a fully-fledged cloud VPS service and scale hosted content to users across the world, including the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. OnApp also lets ASIO.net sell spare green capacity to other service providers, and the company says its sustainability efforts reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 34,488lbs, nitrogen oxide by 50.6lbs and sulfate by 37.4lbs each year, equivalent to planting eight acres of trees each summer.
