The Kagel Canyon Civic Association (KCCA) serves about 300 households in a remote, fire‑prone community in the Angeles National Forest. With no local government representation and past failures of manual phone trees, the KCCA needed a reliable, citizen‑controlled way to alert residents quickly during fast-moving natural disasters.
The KCCA adopted One Call Now for emergency‑only alerts via phone, text and email, with a small group of authorized senders. During the 2017 Creek Fire the system delivered multiple early‑morning warnings that reached residents well before county notifications, helping many families evacuate in time and likely preventing further loss of life and property.
