A OnSolve One Call Now Case Study
Barren County Schools, a south-central Kentucky district serving about 5,000 students across multiple schools, struggled with slow, inefficient communication—relying on radio and TV for closings, notes sent home for club and sports news, and office calls for absences. These methods were time-consuming and often ineffective for reaching parents and the broader community.
Since adopting One Call Now in 2006, district staff can send messages to the entire community and to targeted subgroups; the high school alone has sent 500+ messages to more than 299,000 numbers, saving nearly 13,000 hours. The system enabled immediate alerts—for example, cancelling school after a late basketball win and managing messaging during a tornado warning—greatly speeding communication and giving parents and staff a reliable, trusted channel.
