A Omnivex Case Study
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) faced the challenge of helping travelers navigate its large, complex terminal layout. The airport historically relied on over 270 paper maps, which were costly to update and reprint. For its renovation of Boarding Area E, SFO sought a digital solution to provide interactive wayfinding and eliminate paper maps. The airport turned to its existing vendor, Omnivex, and decided to use the Omnivex Moxie platform for this project.
The solution implemented by Omnivex used the Moxie platform to power interactive touchscreens that provide travelers with the best route to their destination, whether on foot or via the AirTrain. The system is location-smart and interfaces with real-time data to account for factors like construction closures, ensuring the information is always current. This digital approach enhanced the traveler experience and is helping SFO reduce costs associated with map printing and labor.
