A Omnivex Case Study
Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto doubled its campus size in 2012 and needed a modern digital signage solution to improve wayfinding, keep visitors informed about daily events, and update technology in its original building while maintaining a vertical video look. Facing limited server-room space and constrained cabling routes, the Rotman School engaged Omnivex and selected Omnivex Moxie (with Omnivex DataPipe) to deliver a campus-wide signage platform.
Omnivex deployed Omnivex Moxie across 16 players and 27 screens — including seven vertically mounted 46" directories, an 80" entrance display, a nine-panel 46" video wall, and an 8-monitor wall in the BMO Financial Trading Lab showing real-time market data — all managed by Rotman’s multimedia and marketing teams. The Omnivex solution improved building navigation and event communication, increased event visibility (replacing much printed static signage with video and live feeds), runs the video wall six days a week, and has enabled Rotman to schedule real-time interruptions for active events; the school is now expanding signage plans and considering interactive wayfinding with Omnivex.
