A Omnivex Case Study
Oak Park Public Library needed a welcoming, personalized way to communicate programs, events and room schedules to patrons across its new 834 Lake Street building. To meet that challenge the library selected Omnivex for a complete digital signage solution (Omnivex Display, Omnivex DataPipe and Omnivex Control/Control 4) and integrated it with E•vanced Solutions’ scheduling software so display content and bookings would be current and visible the moment patrons enter.
Omnivex implemented centralized signage managed by the library webmaster, driving two plasma screens in the front reception and LCD panels adjacent to the elevator doors on each of the three floors; E•vanced sends schedule data via XML to Omnivex for automatic, real‑time posting. The Omnivex system also provides hardware monitoring, auto-restart of turned-off screens and location-specific emergency messaging; the result is up‑to‑the‑minute room and program information with minimal staff intervention, a single-point management/logging capability, and a flexible platform the library continues to expand.
