Network of Omnivex powered digital signage enhances the customer experience at one of Calgary's top shopping centres

Southcentre Mall, a nearly one‑million‑square‑foot shopping centre in Calgary with more than 200 stores, undertook a $104 million renovation to modernize the guest experience and address pain points like wayfinding, retailer visibility and promotion. After finding PowerPoint inadequate, Southcentre selected Omnivex — deploying Omnivex software (Omnivex Display, Omnivex DataPipe and Omnivex Control) via integrator Sharp’s Audio Visual — to power a networked digital signage solution.

Omnivex enabled centrally managed, scheduled content across strategically placed screens (including a feature 3 x 3 video wall of nine screens, a Sports Zone, interactive wayfinding and customer service displays), delivering native‑resolution video, live news/tickers and multimedia ads. The Omnivex deployment improved content quality and scheduling, increased tenant satisfaction and retailer visibility (free in‑mall ad space provided to tenants), boosted promotional reach and drew “phenomenal” feedback from shoppers and retailers while creating opportunities for future revenue and system expansion.
