A Omnivex Case Study
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Canada’s largest convention centre, needed a scalable, state‑of‑the‑art system to deliver timely, location‑specific event and visitor information across multiple floors and buildings with minimal staff intervention. To meet that need MTCC selected Omnivex and deployed Omnivex Moxie as the core of a digital signage platform tied into its event scheduling system.
Omnivex implemented a modular solution (Omnivex Moxie with DataPipe and Control, plus SQLLink/WebPad tools) driving an initial network of 19 NEC 46‑inch LCDs that automatically pull schedules from MTCC’s ODBC database, enable web‑based content updates, and automate hardware management. The Omnivex system delivered real‑time, targeted communications, reduced operating effort and total cost of ownership, supports emergency alerts to 30,000–40,000 visitors instantly, and gives MTCC a platform ready for expansion to kiosks, outdoor signage and mobile displays.
