How Florida Gulf Coast University Boosted Digital Engagement with a New Website and CMS

Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) needed a more powerful, flexible content management system to support its redesigned website and strengthen its digital presence against much larger in-state schools. Its legacy CMS lacked mobile responsiveness, open API support, extensibility, and built-in quality checks for SEO, accessibility, and design consistency, making it difficult for the university to manage content effectively and compete online. FGCU chose OmniUpdate’s OU Campus to address these challenges.

OmniUpdate implemented OU Campus with sitewide templates, SEO-focused page structure, reporting tools, customizable user permissions, and built-in accessibility and design checks. The result was a future-proof website that improved SEO performance, increased new website visits and donor engagement, and gave FGCU better reporting on traffic and content activity. With 196 content contributors using the system, OmniUpdate also helped FGCU maintain sitewide consistency while empowering editors to work more independently.
