Charter Oak State College, a Connecticut institution serving adult learners and degree-completion students, needed to redesign its website to be responsive as mobile traffic continued to rise. Using OmniUpdate’s OU Campus web content management system, the college wanted a solution that would improve the first impression for visitors across devices while keeping the project low-friction and cost-effective.

OmniUpdate’s OU Campus helped the college implement a DIY redesign using Bootstrap-based templates, XSL/XSLT, and Multi-Channel Output so the new site could be built and tested alongside the existing one. The result was a responsive redesign with minimal structural changes, preserved page URLs, and stronger internal buy-in because staff could preview the new design without losing their existing pages. The project was well received internally and earned praise from the college president.
