How Island Olive Oil Uses Lifecycle Stages and Automation to Deliver the Boutique Touch

Island Olive Oil, a Hawaii-based gourmet retailer with two brick-and-mortar locations and a Shopify store, needed to preserve its boutique, in-store experience as it scaled online—especially during the pandemic. The team turned to Omnisend for stronger segmentation and automation (lifecycle stages, welcome series, customer reactivation, popups and other automations) plus hands-on support to replicate tastings, recipes and personalized service through email.

Omnisend implemented lifecycle-stage mapping and targeted automations (welcome series, abandoned-cart, at-risk and "can't lose" workflows) with a dedicated CSM guiding strategy. The impact was substantial: automations are only 1.22% of sends but drive 39% of email revenue and paid for a full year of Omnisend in eight months; the welcome series averages an 11% conversion and a 3,274% RPE lift (with 998% higher click rates), abandoned-cart drives a 41% conversion and 687% higher clicks, and the at-risk automation posts a 27% conversion with a 2,710% RPE lift (the "can't lose" segment yields $11.24 RPE).
