Case Study: QMed streamlines aeromedical certification with Omnis mobile app

The customer, QMed, operated by Schwerdtner Medizin-Software GmbH, faced a challenge with the time-consuming and cumbersome process for pilots and crew to apply for mandatory aeromedical certificates. The existing procedure took around 50 minutes per application and lacked integration, requiring data to be re-entered for each renewal. To address this, they partnered with the vendor Omnis and developed a solution using the Omnis Studio platform.

The solution implemented by Omnis was the Q.MED-AERO mobile and web application. This allowed applicants to enter and securely store their data, which could then be easily copied for renewals, drastically cutting completion time. For doctors, the Omnis Studio REST API enabled seamless and automatic data transfer into their desktop systems and to the German Federal Aviation Authority, ensuring data accuracy and eliminating manual entry. The result was a drastically streamlined process with significant time savings for all users.
