The customer, Computer nach Maß (CNM), faced the challenge of modernizing the time-consuming and error-prone paper-based process for patient diaries used in monitoring conditions like depression and bipolar disorder. They partnered with the vendor, Omnis, to develop an electronic solution using the Omnis Studio platform to enable faster and more accurate data entry and diagnosis.

The solution implemented by Omnis was a multi-platform mobile application built with the Omnis JavaScript Client. This allowed CNM to replace numerous older clients with a single, universal client that runs on all web browsers and mobile devices. As a result, development and maintenance were dramatically simplified; the porting process was completed in record time, which CNM engineers estimated would have taken eight times longer with other tools. The system now manages the world's most comprehensive database on bipolar disorder, with over eight million records, greatly improving patient monitoring, treatment planning, and research capabilities.
