Cross International, a small Swiss-Italian ERP software house, faced the challenge of competing against much larger global vendors like Microsoft and SAP in the Italian market. To remain independent, they needed their ERP system to be more powerful and attractive than those of their giant competitors, despite having far fewer resources.

Using the Omnis Studio development tool and their own smart add-on called CrossModel, Omnis enabled Cross International to increase its development speed by a factor of 10. This combination resulted in their X-Cross ERP offering unique "Total Client" technology, which provides LAN-like performance over the web and allows for customizations that can be automatically converted to new software versions, cutting maintenance costs completely.
